Rubik's Cube lubrication is a big factor of "speedcubing." Even if you aren't very fast it is a good idea to lubricate your Rubik's cube. There are a few ways to lube your cube.
Vaseline:
Vaseline is an oil based product, it can be used to lubricate your Rubik's cube. But it is NOT recommended. Afterwhile the oil will start to destroy the inside mechanisms of the Rubik's cube and little bits of plastic will flake off inside the cube, effectively destroying the cube from the inside out.
Silicone Spray:
Silicone is a great lubricant for Rubik's cubes; silicone is cheap, effective and easy to locate. There are some disadvantages though. Silicone is poisonous! So if you are going to lubricate your Rubik's cube with it you need to do it in a well ventilated area, preferably outside if at all possible. The fumes from silicone are very toxic and can cause brain damage if intentionally inhaled or unintentionally inhaled, so please be very careful when using it.
